Substantial Taxco Solid Sterling Silver Lantern & Round Bead Chain Necklace, Mexico 1980s.

Lantern beads with an unusual spiral motif alternate with round ball beads, all joined with weighty silver links.
A statement piece with feminine character yet considerable presence.
Taxco is one of Mexico's renowned Silversmithing towns dating back to the colonial era.
This piece is marked TS-102.  "T" is for Taxco, "S" is the initial letter of the silversmith, and "102" indicates that this is the 102nd Taxco Silversmith registered with the initial S.
Also marked "Mexico" and "925" for Sterling purity.
