Superb Emilia Mimi Castillo Mexican 925 Necklace Crab Pendant Rose Quartz w/Case

There's a lovely flow to this necklace, a single heavy band of textured silver fish heading down to the large waiting crab on one side, and on the other side a double stream of smooth silver fish swimming in the same direction. It's a unique and stunning look, finely done, all quality and heavy silver. You'll love the crab--his legs are lifelike, his pincer claws hang onto those fish for dear life and the large tactile rose quartz rough on his back is dreamy.
Emilia "Mimi" Castillo, daughter of famed Mexican silver maestro Antonio Castillo, founder of Los Castillo, learned from her father but has become famous in her own right, crafting a wide array of silver jewelry, silver holloware and silver inlaid pottery. She has been active since the 1970s, frequently selling her pieces at Nieman Marcus. This piece is hand signed Emilia Castillo and Mexico on the back of the crab, and stamped Emilia Castillo and 925 on the fishy clasp.
Necklace measures 19" in length, possibly a tiny bit longer--hard to measure exactly with the crab eyes in the way. Crab pendant measures a big 3" wide by 1.75". Entire necklace weighs a little over 4.5 ounces, at least 140 grams (too heavy for my jewelry scale, had to use postal scale)! The necklace comes with its original fitted wooden foam-lined box. If you collect Mimi Castillo, or even if you don't, this is an amazing necklace to own!
