    Description

    This is a wonderful Federico Jimenez necklace with turquoise and silver flowers with kissing lovebirds. Extremely rare and beautiful. The necklace consists of 6 silver and turquoise flowers on each side (12 in total) of the bird pendant. The kissing lovebirds pendant has 3 hearts that dangle off the birds and the flower.
    Measurements: Pendant - 3 3/8 inches long X 2 5/8 inches wide at the widest part. The necklace is 22 inches long from clasp to clasp.  The larger flowers are 1 3/8 inches round and the smaller flowers are 1 inch round.  The necklace has Federico’s stamp and is marked sterling.
    Federico Jimenez was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1941. He came to the US in 1967 to study Jewelry design. In 1970 he and his wife, Ellen Berber Jimenez took a trip the the Southwest and fell in love with the American Indian Culture. He admired the Indian craftsmanship and technique so much he was inspired to start a collection of Folk Art. He was prior trustee of the “Millicent Rogers Museum”
    in Taos, New Mexico
    and the Southwest Indian Museum in Los Angeles, California. Federico is currently trustee on the board of the “Autry National Center” and “La Plaza De La Cultura” in downtown Los Angeles, CA.
