Description
This beautiful tribal-style choker necklace is handmade by the Otomi Indians of San Pablito in Puebla, Mexico. The artists use tiny chaquira beads to assemble these gorgeous pieces of jewelry. A necklace and earring set can take one month to make, as the tiny beads are manipulated into complex patterns with a needle. This necklace is done in beautiful black and silver beads. It is lovely worn with a simple black low lying v-neck t-shirt or blouse to reveal its beauty.... or even displayed over a black higher neck round t-shirt.Very similar to the intricate, beaded Huichol Indian bracelets of Mexico.
The necklace sits close to the throat and is adjustable from 14 3/4" to 15 1/4" circumference. At the longest center point under the throat, it is 5" long. To the right and left of the center, the length is 3".
The lightweight, pierced, loop, black earrings hang 1 3/4" from the pierced hole and are 1 1/4" at their widest. There are a couple of shinier highlight beads in the loop - hard to see in picture.
