Description
Knockout necklace of Turquoise and Silver by renowned artist, Federico Jimenez. I believe the turquoise is Kingman from Arizona. The necklace was created, and signed, by Mr Jimanez in his studio in Mexico. There are 33 stones, each of which is set in a custom-made sterling silver bezel with a solid backing, and connected to the adjoining stones by sturdy loops. It is stamped and signed on the back (see photo). The length is22 1/2 inches.
I actually met him and purchased the necklace from him directly. He was a charming and very attractive man who was literally dripping in turquoise jewelry himself. He was a walking showcase of his work with rings on every finger, multiple bracelets on each arm, quite a few necklaces and even a pair of silver earrings! Quite frankly I don't know how the man could move!
It was very hard to choose a piece because everything was so gorgeous, but I finally decided on this necklace and another pendant that is a heavy silver link chain with a turquoise cross hanging on it. I am going to keep the cross necklace but I decided to sell this piece because I just didn't have many occasions to wear it and it's too pretty to just sit in a drawer. I do love it though!
This is the kind of necklace that can be worn by either a woman or a man and will become their "signature" piece.
